We’re delighted to welcome David Hartman as Raphael House’s new Interim Executive Director! 

David brings extensive leadership experience in the social sector, with a proven track record of strengthening organizations through strategic management, program enhancement, and effective stakeholder engagement.

As the founder of Hartman Consulting, David has provided invaluable counsel to numerous nonprofit organizations, helping them increase their impact and reach their full potential. His expertise spans interim executive management, strategic restructuring, organizational development, and governance enhancement. His experience leading organizations through comprehensive evaluation and implementation of strategic options will be instrumental in guiding Raphael House forward.

David shared, “I’m honored to serve as the Interim Executive Director here at Raphael House and am deeply inspired by our mission and the work of our dedicated staff, Board, and volunteers. Our work helps families by providing some of the most fundamental human needs, supporting them in ways that strengthen family bonds and enable them to achieve life goals. I am grateful to be a part of this organization.”

Throughout his career, David has demonstrated exceptional leadership in various roles, including serving as President of the National MS Society, Northern California, where he successfully led the integration of three chapters. His experience with the American Red Cross as both an executive director and chief operating officer further showcases his ability to manage complex organizational transformations while maintaining operational excellence.

David holds a bachelor’s degree in political science and economics from UC Berkeley and a master’s degree in Nonprofit Management from the University of San Francisco. His academic background, combined with his extensive practical experience and training in interim executive management, makes him uniquely qualified to lead Raphael House during this important transition period.

We are thrilled to have David join our team and look forward to his leadership in advancing our mission of helping families achieve stable housing and financial independence.
