Raphael House began as an entirely volunteer run organization. Although today residents and staff members participate in the daily chores of running our household, virtually every aspect of life at Raphael House depends upon the much needed support of our volunteers. Whether it’s preparing meals or tutoring children, serving on various committees, or graciously serving as a member of the Board of Directors, Raphael House involves the community in all aspects of helping our families thrive.
Each year more than 2,000 Raphael House volunteers help us bring love and warmth to Bay Area families. Our diverse volunteer base from the San Francisco Bay Area community includes teens, seniors, professionals, and former residents. In addition, a group of live-in volunteers participate in our six to twelve month Residential Community Internship program, which draws people from all over the world. If you would like to make a difference, Raphael House has both short- and long-term volunteer opportunities, and there are many ways to get involved for both individuals and groups.
